What exciting times we live in! Over the past two years the number of effects plug-ins has increased dramatically. With literally hundreds available, performing virtually any studio task and some that are entirely new, choosing can be difficult. We hope to give you a headstart by providing you with information on where to find them. In the future, we'll add reviews and a rating system as well.

Since most applications now support Direct-X as well as VST and for the few that don't there are helper applications, choosing between VST and Direct-X is not really an issue anymore. Good news for musicians who want to make music, not get bogged down on technical details. Still, there are some effects that are available only for one standard but not both.
